This 12 year old loves his Batman tee shirt. He came to me in Term 2, having failed all his subjects in this very important PSLE year. There were also family issues in the works. Where he refuses to submit to authority, he works with me very consistently and is often very animated in the stories he shares with me. He just told me that he has finally passed his paper 2 with a more than 10 marks improvement - a feat I told his parents will be challenging because he is very weak in numerous linguistic skills. Unlike Maths and Science, to get improvements in language especially for one with many learning and social issues, takes many many months. I praised him and am thankful for this miracle. So we continue to tell him since the beginning : we may not be able to cover every thing before PSLE. You just do your best.
